SCORE 1 - TACTILE SONIC DOMINANCE
First and foremost, thank you for taking part in this exciting research project. I hope to open up your mind to new methods of art making underpinned by a true sense of embodiment within touch. First, we have our vibrotactile sound score curated by Joe Mathew. There is a list below for what you will need to complete this score both for dancers and artists and some questions to think about as you respond. You will then play the first audio recording named ‘Acclamitising the body’ where my voice will guide you into your body and open up your sensory palette ready to receive touch sensations. Once completed you will then play the second audio called ‘Decibel negative’ and respond in your chosen medium. If you happen to be cross disciplinary you may respond with both mediums which can be done in any order. Once completed, there is a short form for you to fill out at the bottom of this page and I would like you to send the video of yourself moving and (for artists) pictures of your artwork to my email address which is situated at the bottom of the form. Finally, just enjoy the process and get creative.
What you will need
ALL:
-
Preferably a good speaker with bass, if this is not feasible you may use headphones however we must appreciate that the tactile sensation will be reduced significantly.
DANCERS:
-
Your mind and body, space (size does not matter just choose somewhere you feel comfortable moving in) and your phone to record your improvisation to send to me.
ARTISTS:
-
Your mind and body, a variety of materials to respond with and your phone to record yourself to send to me.
